Società Dante Alighieri Inc. is a non-profit organization registered in the Philippines representing the Comitato di Manila as part of the Società Dante Alighieri network in the world. Established in 2005, the Comitato di Manila works closely with the Embassy of Italy in the Philippines, The Italian Chamber of Commerce in the Philippines, local universities and other Philippine-Italian organizations to promote the learning of the Italian language and bridge the cultural affinities between Italy and the Philippines. 

Our main activities revolve around language classes (varying from A1 to C2 level according to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages or CEFR) for both individual and group courses, translation of documents from English to Italian and viceversa, and cultural events fostering connections within the vibrant Philippine-Italian community.

Event Description:

Performing live directly from Ravenna, the Italian city where Dante Alighieri’s tomb is located, Gianmario Strappati will guide us through a musical journey with a 1-hour interactive online musical concert of Tuba.

Gianmario Strappati is a concert performer, professor at the Giuseppe Verdi Conservatory in Ravenna (Italy) and Don Bosco Missions Ambassador for the music in the world. He has performed throughout the five continents and won the Nino Rota Award. He held solo concerts at the Mozarteum of Salzburg (Austria), the Tchaikovsky Festival in Russia, the Titanic Museum in Belfast (Northern Ireland), and even at the tomb of Johann Sebastian Bach in Leipzig (Germany) – just to mention a few. In 2020, Christopher Magazine nominated him as artist of the year.

His performance will include the presentation of the most known arias in classic music: Alessandro Marcello’s Adagio, Mozart’s Turkish March, Brahms’ Hungarian Dance No. 5, Piazzolla’s Oblivion and Vuelvo al Sur, Korkasov’s Flight of the Bumblebee, Vittorio Monti’s Czardas, etc.
